Although Drew Duffy grew up in Massachusetts, his family trekked up to Vermont each weekend so he and his brother could race and train. The family moved up to the area once Drew entered middle school, and he eventually decided to attend GMVS. Here he remained through high school, training on the icy Vermont slopes that have produced so many great racers. All his hard work paid off when Drew was offered a spot on the U.S. Ski Team after impressing the coaches at a tryout camp during the spring of his senior year.
In 2015 Duffy made waves in the ski world when he laid down an unbelievable run to claim the National super G title, beating out multiple World Cup veterans. The very next season he made his World Cup debut, racing speed events at both Lake Louise and the legendary Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm. Drew managed to snag his first World Cup points at the Kitzbuhel combined, where he landed a top-30 result and proved he was ready for the world stage.
