In 2012 Lea was one of two women selected for the Olympic team and clocked the fastest lap time at the World Championships. She continued to steadily progress and in 2013 she finished out of the top 10 in a World Cup race only once.
Lea has been on the podium in five different disciplines but her focus remains on being the best in the world in Cross Country. She has fought back from injury and in 2016 claimed a Silver Medal at World Championships and finished 7th at the Rio Olympic Games, both personal bests in those events. Lea has solidified her spot among the best in the world and is consistently vying for the podium.
